About Us

Gurukul started its activities in 2006 with the slogan of creating an educated, skilled, hardworking, cultured, and humanitarian generation. In the beginning, in addition to awareness activities, some regular training was organized to create technically trained manpower and create technology-based entrepreneurs. Besides, technical assistance was provided to the organizations involved in such activities.

The first technical education institution was established in 2009 in the Kushtia district headquarters of Bangladesh. The institute was approved by the Bangladesh government in 2010. The institute started conducting a 4-year diploma and short courses of different durations. In the course of time, 9 technical educational institutions have been established under Gurukul, where various short courses of various durations including Diploma in Engineering, Medical, and Nursing are being conducted.

In addition to conducting educational institutions and informal training activities, Gurukul is operating the most diverse online education activities in Bangladesh through a platform called “Gurukul Online Learning Network”. Under this program, online classes of all education systems in Bangladesh are being disseminated through about half a hundred social media channels. Gurukul Online Learning Network is also producing educational content for various government and private television channels. From this platform, digital education materials are created and supplied to the “Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education” and “Department of Bangladesh Technical Education” of the Government of Bangladesh.

In order to facilitate the management, a non-profit organization called “Gurukul Trust” was established in 2017 and all the activities of Gurukul were brought under that trust. An executive committee on behalf of the trust oversees all activities. The executive head of the trust is called “Gurukul Pramukh”. However, for the organizations managed under the trust, separate executive committees have been formed as required. There is a sector-specific committee to oversee and manage the Gurukul.
