A special discussion meeting on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day was organized on Saturday, December 14, 2018 at Gurukul Hall Room. Sheikh Gias Uddin Ahmed Mintu, senior vice-president of Kushtia district branch of Bangladesh Awami League, was present as the chief guest and keynote speaker of the day. Gurukul Cultural Committee Chairman Mr. Shahin Sarkar presided over the discussion.
At the beginning of the program, a minute of silence was observed in memory of all the martyrs killed on the day of Martyred Intellectuals. Speaking as the chief guest, Sheikh Gias Uddin Ahmed Mintu said that freedom is the best asset of any nation. The victory against an armed and trained force was incredible for the unarmed Bengalis. But it was possible under the leadership of Bangabandhu. He said that those who had the ability to build a prosperous Bangladesh, on this day the Pakistani aggressors went on a mission to kill them. It leaves us many years behind. But because of Bangabandhu’s blood, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have been able to turn around again. Today, his daughter is leading the Bangladesh of Bangabandhu’s dream in the way he expected. Today we are walking on the path of developed and prosperous Bangladesh. So each of us must come forward to contribute to building the country from our own position. In particular, the youth should contribute in the mission of building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh.
